Lise Heise can look back on a proud 102 years long life. 102 years in which she not only experienced countless special moments privately and professionally, but also economically and politically. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Lise Heise is even the oldest active politician. She was elected to the town council of Kirchheimbolanden (Rhineland-Palatinate) at the age of 100 for the independent voters‘ association „Wir für Ki-Bo“. In this position, she campaigned for a special project that is very close to her heart: the foundation of a swimming club after the municipal swimming pool was closed. Although she has been retired for forty years, the term „boredom“ is a foreign word for the trained agriculture teacher. Lots of exercise – especially swimming – the fresh air of nature and social contacts are her recipe for keeping young and fit. That this recipe works becomes clear not only when looking at her year of birth, 1919, but also with each of her wise words: „You can always find something positive, you just have to see it,“ says Lise Heise.
